What did we learn?


 Week 1: In this week we learned about the 7 Cs which are Clarity, Completeness, Conciseness, Concreteness, Correctness,Courtesy, Consideration. These relate with communication which is what we started this course with. 

Week 2: What is a podcast? In this article we learned about what a podcast is and it directly relates with the course as we were required to record a podcast for this class. We learned about different platforms for podcasts as well. 

Week 3: Cops Are Creating Totally Bogus Facebook Profiles Just So They Can Arrest People: This article covered was very interesting as it covered the topic that cops are actually creating fake Facebook accounts to arrest people. This related with the topic of perception, self and communication that we covered that week.

Week 4: 7 Email Etiquette Rules Every Professional Should Know: This article was focused on learning how to write professional emails. As we learned how to communicate effectively online, writing emails is an important aspect that was covered this week. 

Week 5: The Secret to Better Face-to-Face Job interviews Online: This article was very useful in providing tips about preparing for online job interviews. As we were learning online interviews, this article directly related with our course learning. 

Week 6: Why do we argue online?: This week we shifted our focus towards social media and this article provided information about the reasons why people argue online. It also stated that internet is the number one forum for debates. This also directly relates with our class for online communication. 

Week 7: The year that angry won the internet: This article reflected upon the hate speech that continues on the social media. It highlighted the trends with some numbers that how BBC was trending in the hate. Since we were covering the Agenda-setting theory this week, it fell right in the same category and related with it.

Week 8: The beauty of Conflict TED Talk: It relates with our learning that he provides a persuasive ted talk. He has a clear claim, and then backs it up with the evidence using his personal stories and some data. I think his Ted Talk is a proposition of value as he's persuading the audience to look at the positive side of the conflicts. 

Week 9: Aristotle’s Artistic Proofs: This week we learned about different elements of argumentation. We learned about the artistic proofs: ethos, pathos, logos and and we also learned about persuasive outlines. This week we were preparing our persuasive podcast outline so it was relatable. 

Week 10: The Power of Visual Communication: This article covered the power of visual communication and provided information about the effective use of visuals in communication. As we were learning how to analyze arguments, this article fitted well with it. 

So these were some of the important learning that we did in this class and overall it was a great class!!!!
